The Group shapes its relationship with external Bodies taking inspiration from the principles of respect, transparency and cooperation and complying with the relevant laws and the Code of Conduct. Waste Italia has direct relationships with the regional branches of the Italian Register of Environmental Operators, which has discretionary authority to issue transportation and permits and licenses to operate waste treatment/disposal facilities on behalf of third parties and handle registrations in the broker category.
Province/ARPA (Regional Environmental Protection Agency) and other bodies are the authorities responsible for overseeing the way plants managers are operating which has to be carried out complying with existing regulations and specific requirements contained in the authorisations.
The Company's plants and landills obtained the authorisation for the construction and operation by the offices in charge of (Province in Piedmont, Region for landfills and Province for plants located in Lombardy). Landfills and certain types of renewable energy plants are subject to a monitoring and control plan which has to be implemented directly by the manager and whose results have to be regularly forwarded to the Bodies concerned.
